Default What else is there besides putty.exe

I've been using putty since the first day I found out about it, before then I didn't use anything, so all my time has been spent learning command line, but recently I found WinSCP, now for us casual users(trouble makers) this is an awesome tool, because sometimes I get lost and don't know my way back, this easy and simple to use software makes us trouble makers get into stuff we should have never got into

Putty is pretty much the standard ssh client for Windows. There are a few others that add a small amount of functionality, but all the ones that I've looked at cost money, and I don't consider them enough of an improvement to warrant the added expense.

WinSCP is a bit different from Putty, it communicates using the standard ssh protocol, but instead of giving you a shell it allows for fast, secure file transfer. This is a much better solution than using FTP, which is a pretty insecure protocol despite it's popularity.

What I'm waiting for is something like Konsole for Windows, the tabs and the ability to change terminals with keystrokes is very useful for people such as myself that tend to have a large number of connections open. I do a large part of my work in Linux, but every time need to do some work from home and happen to be booted into Windows I'm reminded that Windows doesn't have Konsole. =(

I just checked out Konsole, the tab you mentioned is very handy, too bad noone thought of making a windows version of it.

I thought about that, but I was mostly looking for something more portable, something that doesn't require the overhead of running a second window manager just for one program. Neat though, I thought it might be possible to do that but hadn't looked into it too far as it didn't practical. I could run a lightweight distro from QEMU on Windows that'd do the same thing, except I'd have a VM I could move around between computers if I need to, which I've been thinking about doing for a while. Maybe a Debian minimal install with fluxbox and konsole and a few other things I routinely used, I just haven't had the time to set it up yet, and I'm in Linux most of the time in any case so it doesn't really matter.
