Default Cari.net Remote Dedicated Backup Server

Demo a Directory on a Remote Dedicated Backup Server (contact sales for details)

CARI.NET'S NETDRIVE VIDEO TUTORIAL---CLICK HERE---


Read for instructions

1- Download NetDrive
2-After restart, open the NetDrive application and click the "New Site" button at the bottom left
3- You can name it whatever you wish, in the address field type http://(CONTACT Cari.Net SALES FOR IP)/demo
4-Check the fields to the right check that the site name and address match up, make sure that WebDav is selected under "Server Type" then Name your drive with a designated letter.
5-Uncheck the box "Anonymous/Public Login" if it is currently checked.
6-
Username = (contact sales for username)
password=(contact sales for password)
7- Click the "Connect" button at the top right.

The demo directory should automatically open up.
If not, go to "My Computer" and you will see a new section "network drives"
Double click on the directory you created and enter log in information if it prompts.

Default Scheduled Backups with Windows Backup Utility

now try to run scheduled backups with Windows Backup tool.

go to

START-> ALL PROGRAMS-> ACCESSORIES-> SYSTEM TOOLS-> BACKUP
-----------------------------------------------------------------

1- Always start the program in the Wizard mode to make it easier (click next)

2- Now choose "back up files and settings" (We will discuss the restore afterwords, Click next)

3- For Test purposes choose "let me choose what to back up" (click next)

4- Select what you want to back up (this is a public test server go to your desktop and create a test file or folder)

5- Choose a place to save your backup the default drive for this netdrive is "X" (name your backup procedure and click next)

6- Now you can finish OR you can click advanced to set a schedule to automatically back up files

IF YOU CLICKED ADVANCED CONTIUNE TO READ

*******YOU NEED ADMINISTRATIVE RIGHTS TO RUN SCHEDULED BACKUPS*******


1- choose the type of scheduled backup
normal- would backup the whole file again
Copy- would back up the whole file as a copy ( you would have multiple copies of that file)
Incremental- would backup in increments
Differential- Would only copy the documents that have been edited or made in the folders
Daily- Would backup the selected files on a daily basis no matter the changes
(click next)

2- If you want you can have Windows verify that your data has been backed up (click next)

3-Now you can choose to Append this new backup to the existing backup OR you can replace the existing with every new backup procedure( click next)

4- To set cheduled backups select "later" and click "set schedule"

5- create a job name - set theschedule and if needed set settings- click ok- then click next

6- verify that your the administrator of the computer then click ok

Default Restoring Files with Windows Backup Ulility

start off by running the backup wizard again.

1- Choose "Restore files and settings"

2- click the + button to drop down to see the files you have backed up select the box you will see a check mark (click next)

3- Click finish (the default process will restore to the origional location and will not replace existing files.)


IF YOU CLICKED "ADVANCED" READ BELOW"

1- choose where you want to restore the files to
origional location- default location where the files were currently located
Alternate Location- if you wish to backup your files onto another hard drives to keep the file paths under a different drive
Single Folder- all information will be backed up into a folder that you create
(Click next)

2- Choose to leave existing files, replace existing files if they are older then your backup files, or replace all existing duplicate files no matter what.

3- select the options that you want for total recovery choose all boxes

4- click next and click finish to see your restoriation

That is a good video, it demonstrates how easy the Remote Dedicated Backup Servers are to set up on your Windows servers and workstations.
