The instructions provided by Cari.Net for accessing the backup solution via a Windows box (using Web Folders or NetDrive) is great, but here's a quick guide to getting in there from a *nix box...
SSH into the box (for you Windows users, get a copy of putty) Once logged in, type the following: Code:
yum install cadaver Once installed, type the following: Code:
cadaver http://MY_IP_ADDRESS/MYBACKUPCOLLECTION You can now use your Cari.Net backup drive from *nix. Coming up: How to move your Plesk backups to a Cari.Net backup server using cadaver and cronjobs... |

Calling that a way to do it in *nix is a bit inaccurate since it won't work on all versions of *nix. That's a good way to do it that works on Fedora and CentOS (anything that uses the yum package manager), but it won't work on anything without yum.
Good tutorial though, and cadaver appears to work just fine on both Debian 4.0 and Ubuntu 8.04 as well, just replace "yum" with "apt-get" and you're good to go. I was able to successfully connect and manipulate files from both distros. Last edited by Anonymous; 07-31-2008 at 10:28 PM. Reason: Noting Debian and Ubuntu versions |
