Outlook
PORT 25 BLOCKING: Internet Service Providers, to reduce SPAM restrict the ability of sending email through a third party, forcing you to use their SMTP server. Please contact your Internet Service Provider to find out what their policy is and or settings are for sending email. Cari.net Adding a new mail account in Outlook: 1) Open Outlook 2) Click on Tools 3) Click on Accounts 4) Select “Add a new email account” 5) Select “POP3” 6) Your Name = persons name 7) Incoming mail server(POP3) = mail.domain.com 8) Email Address = "name@domain.com" 9) Outgoing mail server (SMTP) = mail.domain.com 10) User Name = name (no @domain.com) 11) Password = password 12) Check Box – Remember Password Select More Settings Button (Lower Right Corner): General Tab Skip = This is cosmetic within Outlook Outgoing Server Tab: 1) Check Box – My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication 2) Select “Use same settings as my incoming mail server Connection Tab: 1) Select “Connect using my local area network (Lan)” Advanced Tab: 1) Incoming server (POP3) = 110 2) Do Not Check “This server requires a secure connection (SSL)” 3) Outgoing server (SMTP) = 25 4) Do Not Check “This server requires a secure connection (SSL)” 5) Check “Leave a copy of messages on the server” <<< this allows you to check mail from multiple locations. 6) Check “Remove from server after X days” X = being the desired number of days to allow for additional locations to get the email at an alternate location. |
